How to Actually Stand Out in the Creator Economy

If you want to stand out from the crowd and actually become known and remembered for the work that you do...

Today we’re going to talk about how to make sure that happens.

Because most people I see making content are not doing this.

If your morning routine as a creator consists of hopping onto Skool and reading posts about people making 10k/mo…

If you spend all your time watching everyone else...

If your content looks like a carbon copy of everyone else in your niche...

I’m going to make a prediction right now:

Your career has a ceiling on it. And, it’s low.

Before you get pissed off at me, please know that I’m including myself in this, too.

I spend a lot of time watching what my peers are doing, and modeling their behavior.

 I spend a lot of time creating surface level content around my niche (of helping creators grow their businesses).

 But, I’ve been ignoring a strong, intuitive feeling lately.

My intuition has been nudging me to go deeper.

To spend more time each day developing my ideas.

To excavate wisdom that I already have and articulate it.

I’m called to put a deeper side of myself out there. To not just make content around my niche.

To pull my head out of the surface-level zone of “creator business” and go deeper.

I’ve ignored my intuition in the past and it’s always been a bad decision.

I’m going to listen to the call.

I’m going to write and publish content about other bits of wisdom I’ve found to be extremely helpful.

But, the more I think about it, this just might be good for business, too.

There’s a term in our industry called thought leader.

It’s an interesting one if you think about it…

A leader…of thoughts?

A thought leader is the first person to put a new way of thinking out there…

Then other people adapt and follow.

History shows this to be true.

Martin Luther King is perhaps remembered most for his famous speech “I Have a Dream”, in Washington, D.C., on August 28, 1963.

In this speech, he called for an end to racism.

He shared his vision for the future — a new way of thinking he encouraged us to adopt.

The friends I hold dear all share one thing in common with me:

We think alike.

There was that one night when we stayed up too late drinking beers on the back patio.

Conversation got deep.

When we parted ways with an embrace, we looked at each other and knew:

A new bond had been created.

That’s what happens when you share your deepest thinking with other people on a 1:1 level.

What’s possible if you put it out there for everyone?

Sure, there is a time and place for more surface level, tactical content.

There's a time to model your peers.

But — underpinning all of that lies the depth of your thinking.

Your ideas are the raw ingredient that goes into everything you do.

You can’t build a healthy body without high quality food.

You can't build a healthy thought leader business without high quality ideas.

So...

Here’s a couple questions I invite you to ponder:

  • How much time are you spending developing your own ideas?
  • How much bigger could your impact be if you opened up and shared everything?

If you stay on the surface and only share the "safe" stuff with the market...

How are you ever going to stand out from the crowd?

If you truly want to be remembered…

If you want to make the biggest difference possible…

It’s time to go deeper.

It might even make you a lot more money in the long run.

What if — before you logged into your email each morning — you spent time writing about one new idea that came directly from you?

I’m gonna try it with you, so you won’t be alone.

This is my new idea for the day I wanted to share with you.

My gut tells me that you have a lot more wisdom deep inside of you, waiting to be shared.
